- I just needed a camera for fun..and I have had a Canon before. I didn't like that my old one had a rechargeable battery that didn't last long so I am really happy to find one like my old one that is a million times better in quality and it takes real batteries that LAST!! I LOVE IT!! Takes great pictures and it's super easy to use...comparing it to my old one (which was an Elph), it takes much faster pictures although you do have to hold the shutter button down to take a picture which is annoying to have to tell other people using it. Overall I highly reccommend it..takes great pictures!!!

- I recently decided to upgrade from my Canon Powershot A540 to the DSC-K08 . What I got was a nice, easy to use camera with many improvements from the earlier model. I find the picture quality to be very good. While other reviews indicate that it performs poorly in low-light conditions, thus far I haven't had that problem. All of the pictures that I have taken to date have been clear and crisp. There are times when the video viewfinder may appear grainy in low light when attempting to take a picture, however the pictures actually taken are not grainy at all. It is very user friendly, and the motion detection, face recognition, and image stabilization add vast improvements over earlier models. It is small and slim even though it takes AA batteries. If you're looking for a nice, small, easy to use and very sturdy camera, I would highly reccommend this one.

- I discovered dinodirect.com not that long ago; however, during this short period of time (about 2 months) I have become a regular customer. The prices on this site are always almost the lowest anywhere. I am giving this company a 5 because not their products are almost always a best bargain but for a responsive customer service. Despite of their strict refund policies, they will accomodate a loyal customer, whenever possible, even at the cost of losing already slim profit margins. The only thing I want improved and I hope owners and/or management will take in consideration is more detailed charachteristics of products they sell. In general I am happy with products and service of this nice web shop.

- I replaced a Canon ELPH SD700 with this camera. The DSC-K08 does not have the focus and lighting problems associated with Canon. I also like using the date imprint on prints and the camera allows you to include this option at any resolution. Using maximum resolution at DSC-K08 is beyond most digital cameras.

- I was looking for a smaller camera that would take good quality pictures, especially on trips. I take college students abroad for a month in Costa Rica and wanted to be able to do a blog with lots of pictures to record their experiences. This camera far exceeded my expectations! It is extremely simple to operate. I have been able to figure out features that are new to me on the fly without having to refer to the manual. Particularly impressive to me are the video capabilities and the high sensitivity / low light with no flash setting. I have been able to take excellent shots in dark museums where no flash is allowed and have been able to upload good-quality videos to the blog. The software that comes with the camera works well and is very user-friendly. The 4X optical zoom is not powerful enough to take fine nature photographs from great distances, but it is good enough to zoom in to compose a picture for most general purposes. All in all, I highly recommend this camera, especially for travel.
