10-16-2009- Other Thoughts: There seems to be some confusion about what the sports pack is supposed to do. It just adds a plastic extension to the remote that looks nice and gives you a better two handed grip. Yes, when the attachment is in place it does completely block the IR sensor. So you just use the four way key to navigate any menues. The games themselves do not use the IR sensor.
Putting the remote into the shell is easy if you remember to put the front in first, and tuck it under the front lip. Then the back slides down inside the rear lip. To remove it (say, to switch from batter to picher in baseball) just lift by the strap while holding onto the shell, and back the remote out from the front lip.
One thing to remember is that the extension adds lenght to the remote. This means that you need even more room to swing when you use one of them.
Bottom line: they're a nice little addition to make the games a little more fun. They won't change the actual game in any way, they just make waving that remote look a little less silly.

12-10-2009- Other Thoughts: Now I have used this yet so i can tell you how well this works. I think that if you buy this it will be one of your best decisions ever.

If you have been thinking about using the classic controller I think this might help you change your mind. With the classic controller you are just sitting around pressing buttons and being a couch potato. Now don't get me wrong I love that sometimes, but it completely defeats the purpose of the Wii which is to be interactive and move. So if you want to do it couch potato style just get a gamecube because it will ruin the Wii.

I admit that at first I didn't think the original wiimote would work, but now that I have used it I can tell you that It is the best invention in the history of gaming. In golf when you swing your character swings. In bowling if you throw with less force then the ball moves with less force. It is the next best thing to playing the actual sport. And in Zelda when you swing the wiimote your sword swings in the game.

I can tell you from personal experience that playing beside your friends or playing against them is so fun and it canbe done for hours. At my friend Nick's B-Day party we decided to play wiisports. We played just the bowling from 6:00-6:30 and then again at 7:30-11:30. We would have played longer except we were forced to go to bed. now If you want to miss out on all that fun fine with me use the classic controller, but it will be one of the worst decisions in your entire life.

10-24-2010- Other Thoughts: I have to say, the Wii remote is a great controller. Really simulates swinging you arm very realistically in baseball and the other Wii games. I had no problems with it

- Can I connect the Wii to my HDTV?
Yes, but you'll need the optional component cable to take advantage of the Wii's progressive scan output. You can connect wirelessly or purchase a seperate USB 2.0 Network Adapter to connect directly to the Wii via an Ethernet cable.
- Can I use my Gamecube component cable with my Wii system?
No. The Gamecube component cable only had output connections for VIDEO and then you had to still use your other composite cable in order to get AUDIO, which worked fine on most Gamecube systems since they had two A/V ports. The Wii only has one Multi-A/V port so if you were to use your Gamecube component cable, you couldn't get any sound at all, and that's assuming that the Gamecube component cable would work at all on the Wii.
- Is the Wii-mote wireless, and if so, what kind of batteries does it use?
Yes, the Wii controller is wireless. The controller uses AA alkaline batteries and has a life of between 30 and 60 hours, depending on whether or not its pointing functionality is being used. When it is, it has a 30-hour battery life. When just the accelerometer is being used, the life is 60 hours.
