How to Select a Video Capture Card:

    • Determine the type of PC expansion slot that you will plug your video capture card into your computer. The three major PC adapter interfaces for video capture cards are PCI, PCI-Express (or PCI-e), and USB. This is important because you will need to see which one will fit your PC. If you are not sure use the reference link at the end of this article to motherboards.org about PC Expansion Slots.
    • Determine the type of video format that the video capture card will be receiving. The two standard video formats are Standard Definition (SD) and High Definition (HD). Video capture cards vary in the types of definition as well as the format of HD content. Also some video capture cards do hardware encoding which formats the video content into PC readable files. Check if the video capture card is software or hardware encoding as this can affect your PC system resources such as CPU and Memory requirements.
    • Choose the number of tuners for the video capture card. Most of the early video capture cards could only capture one video source at a time. Now manufacturers sell dual tuners or multi-tuner video capture cards that allow more than one video source to capture per PC expansion slot.
    • Other media type considerations. Some video capture cards can take FM audio signals which allow to capture streaming audio. Also another consideration are remote controls that allow to change channels with your video capture card. Make an assessment of all of your requirements before purchasing.

Well it is late so this will be short and sweet.
I have owned the older 30 fps card and now own the new card at 120 fps and i am very pleased with it i have four QSOCWC Weatherproof CMOS Cameras w/Night Vision. this is a very good low cost solution to home or small business security.

Better than expected
00:00:00 04-28-2011
I read the reviews for this card on this site and other sites. I wasn't anticipating good results but I want the high FPS rating.
Well I am very impressed. My previous card only had 30FPS total for 4 cameras. This card has 30 FPS for EACH camera. It installed prefectly. No Problems at all. The video is great. No jumping. Color is good and night vision is good. It is very well worth the money.
I highly recommend this card.

Worked as expected
00:00:00 04-06-2011
Worked with windows 7 64bit after downloading the latest software from q-see. I have had it up and running for a couple months and it is working beautifully. I wish there was a few more options in the software, but overall very happy.

00:00:00 03-09-2011
My old PC that I also used for video surveilance died, so when I bought a new PC with Windows 7 64 bit platform, little did I know that NO ONE ,really NO ONE make a PC DVR card for this platorm. But after reading John Kesslers' review, I thought I'd give it a try. And sure enough, after about 2 reinstallations and a couple
