How to Remove SATA Cable:
- Shut down the PC and remove any cords connected to the back of the computer case
- Turn the computer over carefully and place it onto a solid surface. Place a soft cloth or towel underneath to prevent scratches
- Use antistatic spray or wear antistatic gloves before opening the case. If you do not have any spray or gloves, touch the power supply to ground yourself
- Open up your computer case and locate your PC's drives. The hard drive is usually located on the right side of the computer underneath the optical drive
- Remove the SATA cable. While holding both sides of the cable, gently pull the SATA cable from the hard drive or optical drive and the SATA cable connector on the motherboard

What is Serial ATA?
The Serial ATA, or SATA, computer bus is a storage-interface for connecting host bus adapters to mass storage devices such as hard disk drives and optical drives. The SATA host adapter is integrated into almost all modern consumer laptop computers and desktop motherboards.

What is it designed for?
Serial ATA was designed to replace the older ATA (AT Attachment) standard (also known as EIDE). It is able to use the same low level commands, but serial ATA host-adapters and devices communicate via a high-speed serial cable over two pairs of conductors. In contrast, the parallel ATA (the redesignation for the legacy ATA specifications) used 16 data conductors each operating at a much lower speed.

What is advantages?
SATA offers several compelling advantages over the older parallel ATA (PATA) interface: reduced cable-bulk and cost (reduced from eighty wires to seven), faster and more efficient data transfer, full duplex (the ability to transmit and receive at the same time), and hot swapping (the ability to remove or add devices while operating).
