How to Clean a Keyboard:
Keyboards can become dirty after periods of extended use, especially if users commonly eat or smoke near the computer. If a keyboard becomes dirty enough, its performance can be affected. Common problems include dead or stuck keys and repeated characters during typing. Note that disassembling your keyboard as described below may void the warranty.- Shut down the computer and detach the keyboard connector before any cleaning procedure. Do not remove or connect a keyboard while the computer is running. Doing so may damage the machine, especially a non-USB based keyboard. Detaching the keyboard while the computer is running is safe when the keyboard is connected to the computer via USB
- For a quick cleaning, turn the keyboard upside down and use a can of compressed air to blow out any foreign matter. Be sure to do this in a location where falling debris can be cleaned up easily. Turn the keyboard upside down and tap on it a few times. You should see a bit of dirt fall out. Change the angle and tap harder to make most of it get out
- Clean the sides of the keys with a cotton swab dipped in isopropyl alcohol
- For a more thorough cleaning, remove all of the keys. Do this by gently prying up each key with a small screwdriver or a similar lever. When the keys have been removed, blow out any debris with compressed air. With a moist (but not wet) cloth, lightly swab all surfaces. Do not allow any type of fluid to enter the keyboard
- Clean the individual keys and place them back in the keyboard
Accidental Spillage:
- Immediately disconnect the keyboard or turn off the computer
- Turn the keyboard upside down and shake
- Dry as much as possible with a cloth while the keyboard is still turned upside down
- Leave it upside down for as long as possible (at least over night)

05-12-2011- Other Thoughts: It works, keys are kind of light to the touch, but that is expected. For the money you can't go wrong

05-07-2011- Other Thoughts: Not much to say here. It works just like it should. Doesn't do anything surprisingly better than I was expecting either. Decent price

05-04-2011- Other Thoughts: This keypad is very handy for entering numbers. It says it is for IBM thinkpad but it works fine with my older Dell laptop with XP. Just plug into the USB and go. Not the most modern looking styling but has a good key feel and a good price

05-01-2011- Other Thoughts: I had a hard time finding a keypad that was set up exactly like a regular keyboard, and since I do a lot of data entry and am constantly switching between a desktop and a laptop, same setup was a must. This keypad is set up the same as a on a keyboard, and it's heavy duty enough to stay where you put it. I highly recommend this item

04-14-2011- Other Thoughts: I've had several keypads, each one lacking in one respect or another. This is the best I've found...good size keys, good spacing between keys, positive feel. Would recommend

04-01-2011- Other Thoughts: Excellent product. I have used it for a few months now and have no complaints. The keys work very well. the biggest advantage of the keypad is, that it does not come with any extra keys, but is simply laid out as one would expect. It's worth the money. <br/>Works on Linux/Unix without problems

03-03-2011- Other Thoughts: I am an accountant who uses my laptop in the field regularly. The larger numerical keys are much easier to use than smaller external numerical keypads. I use it on a non-IBM laptop running Windows XP. No additional software required.
