Pros:

It's small and charges up (in my near-equatorial sun) in about half a day. The light is bright enough to read by and more than bright enough for getting around in my village with no electricity. I'm going to get some more and give them to my friends in village so we can all save money on batteries!

Cons:

The charge doesn't last very long. The panel got jarred loose from the body and so it's partially inside the flashlight, meaning it gets less charge per unit of time - but still works, even after I left it out in a brief rainstorm!

Other Thoughts:

I use this flashlight almost every day - leave it in the *hot* sun all day and depend on it for getting around each night. So far the quality has been consistent despite the beating I'm giving it. I'm hedging my bets, though, and ordering a new one for when I drop this one down a well or a goat eats it.

Over the past two months, I have ordered twice from Dinodirect.com. Both shopping experiences were painless. I went in at odd times of the night (think 3 am - couldn't sleep), and the servers were up and responsive. Once I placed my order, I received an email acknowledgment, showing what I had ordered, including the name of the product, price, and order number. For my first order, things were shipped in two pieces. I took advantage of free shipping and was not charged for either. I really appreciated the fact that with each shipment, I received an email confirmation. The first box arrived four business days later and the second box arrived five business days later. Everything was nicely packed and nothing was damaged.

I initially received the wrong item so I hopped online to their site and took advantage of their Live Chat feature and spoke with an associate named Ruth who was very helpful and advised that since I needed my item pretty quickly, she'd have it reshipped as soon as possible. For the price this product is more than worth it and I am betting it will save me more in the cost of this product in electrical savings alone by not having to turn on bathroom, hallway and kitchen lights in the middle of the night.
