How to Diagnose Display Adapter Problems:
Blank Monitor
- Turn off your computer and remove the power cable. Remove the case cover. Locate the display adapter. This is normally the largest add-in card in the computer and the one to which the monitor connects. Determine that the display adapter is properly seated in the slot
- Disconnect and reconnect the monitor cable. Ensure that the cable is properly attached to the display adapter and the monitor
- Turn the computer on again. If the monitor remains blank, you may either have a faulty display adapter or monitor, a hardware compatibility issue or a faulty cable. Test the monitor with another computer if one is available
Computer Running Very Loudly
- Turn off the computer and open the case. Locate the display adapter
- Clean the fan using a can of compressed air or by blowing dust off the fan blades
- A solid 24-pin set (rows of 8) for a dual-link cable
- Replace the video adapter cooler if cleaning the fan does not help
Corrupted Display
- Right click anywhere on the desktop if you are using Windows Vista or Windows 7. Select "Screen resolution." Set the screen resolution to the recommended setting. This should be the native resolution of your monitor
- Reinstall the drivers if the problem is not solved. Obtain the latest drivers for your display adapter from the manufacturer's website
- Install the drivers. Follow the on-screen instructions. Restart the computer after the installation

03-24-2011- Other Thoughts: I was kinda wondering how it would put out and what kinda quality it you have converting cables like that. But, It worked GREAT. If you are looking for a cost effect way to get HD with a cable you already have without spending a lot of money. This is the way to go. Thank you for the great buy. As a regular Amazon customer, I recommend to anyone.

03-07-2011- Other Thoughts: This adapter does a great job of converting dvi to hdmi. You can easily work around this though, because pretty much all Hdmi devices have anoter form of audio output. GREAT ITEM!

03-16-2011- Other Thoughts: With this adapter I was able to use a old, but well working, Apple monitor with a new PC that only had VGA and HDMI video monitor options. A DVI to HDMI adapter is what I needed and this product works as specified, I would recommend it.

04-20-2011- Other Thoughts: I saved myself a lot of money buying this converter. My new laptop has an HDMI output (male) and VGA output but my monitor was having problems with VGA. The monitor supported a DVI input and came with a DVI cable. Using this converter, I was able to plug it into my new laptop and now I get great resolution. It's very bright and crisp. If you have the same set up as I do, I'd recommend the $ to try it out. Well worth it for me.
