05-14-2010- Pros: Gives same amount of light as 20 Watt light. Excellent price for this type of bulb. Sealed against moisture entry. Low heat (as expected)
- Cons: Too big for some small landscape spot fixtures (although it fits in most of them).
- Other Thoughts: Our outside walkway & pool lighting uses 30 lights at 20 Watts each. 600 watts (3KW each night)is a LOT of energy at high California rates. The big problem with old bulbs was lights at the end of the cable were dim because of the voltage drop from high wattage of other lights in the line. With these LED lights, every one is brighter than before, they don't get hot, and the transformer runs cooler because outside lights now only use total of 100W, not 600W.
