Works for what I bought it for. On the highest setting, it covers a wide expanse quite brightly. Switch is a bit difficult to operate when you are wearing it. Bought it for the night vision red lights, works but doesn't cover a very big area.

Definitely a must have over a regular or specialty flashlight if the primary purpose is for general illumination, especially if you intend to be active in the dark. Some people think headlights are silly but being hands free is far smarter than holding a regular flashlight that usually has bad illumination to boot.

This is a great headlight that works in both small indoor spaces, and outdoor open spaces. Its cheap, comfortable, bright, and with various important lighting options.

It also keeps most of the light shining forward, and so the light that bleeds out of the side does not get into your eyes as badly as the older models.

I had a similar headlight from Energizer prior to these, that had issues I didn't even notice until after I bought this headlight. This headlight is not only brighter, but also shines the red light first, which is good for use at night if you are someone who uses the red light often and doesn't want to have to click through the bright white lights just to get to the red light, so for me this is a good feature.
