Picking the wrong lantern could very well leave you in the dark on your camping trip, while picking the right camping lantern can provide you with maximum light. The right lantern can even save you money in the long run, especially if you camp on a regular basis. Here is how to pick a camping lantern.
- Start by thinking about the type of camping you normally do. If you typically drive to your campsite, then a heavy camping lantern full of fuel will work just fine. If you plan to hike to your campsite, you will probably want something that is lightweight and durable.

04-28-2011- Other Thoughts: I love this little lantern. It was exactly what I was looking for- a small size lantern that is very bright. I did not want a large bulky lantern, and it seemed that was what I was going to have to purchase to get enough light, but I am pleasantly surprised at the brightness of this light for it's size. It's a bit heavy,but not as heavy as another light I have that doesn't give nearly as much light. I wish I had two of these!

04-06-2011- Other Thoughts: This is a great light for power outages and camping plus many other activities. <br/>With the LED's it stays on for hours. We have several power outages every year. I live in the mountains in Colorado, and the wind and snow creates havoc with the power lines. I have several kerosene lanterns, which smell even with the cleanest fuel, plus they are a hazard. We also have many candles. <br/>This is the perfect supplement for my emergency lighting. It puts out a nice clean crisp light that is easy on the eyes. Much easier to read with this than a lantern. <br/>The hook makes it simple to hang it up high.

Gives even more light if you take the top off.

03-09-2011- Other Thoughts: I just bought this lantern for camping and it works great. I would highly recommend it. It takes a lot of batteries but it lasts a long time and is very bright. The smaller version takes less batteries but works about the same. I have now added this lantern to my hurricane supplies, as it will come in handy if I lose power this season.
