How to Use a VGA Port on a Computer:

• Turn your computer around or move to the back so you can clearly see the port.
• Match the shape of the connector to the shape of the port. If you look at the connection on the cable from your monitor, you will see a metal rectangle protruding out of a metal base. Inside the rectangle are pins. One end of the rectangle is smaller than the other. This will line up with the port. Turn the shortened end so that it is facing the same direction as the short end on the port.
• Slide the cable connection into the port so that is fits snugly.
• Tighten the screws on the cable into the computer. On each side of the rectangle on your cable connection are tiny screws. These correspond with threads on either side of the port. Turn the screws with your fingers or a small flat head screwdriver until they are tight. You will need to press the connection into the port as you tighten the screws. Do not make them too tight; they will be difficult to unscrew if you need to disconnect the monitor.
