Setting Up:

• Slide the neck into the controller body and push into lock. Make sure the lever on the rear of the controller body rotates fully to the locked position
• To detach the neck, rotate the lever on the rear of the controller body to unlocked symbol and hold in this position. Carefully slide the neck out from the controller body taking care no to twist the neck

To Attach a Faceplate to Your Controller:

• Remove the neck from the controller body
• Slide the faceplate lever to the "unlocked" position. Carefully lift faceplate to remove iron from the controller body. Make sure you keep the controller from falling by firmly holding it in place as you lift the faceplate. Take care not to damage the whammy bar as the faceplate is detached
• Align the tabs on the newest faceplate with the slots in the controller body. Check the faceplate lever is still in the "unlocked" position and press and faceplate into position. Secure the faceplate to the controller body by sliding the faceplate lever to the "locked" position

How to Play Guitar Hero:

• Ignore the character in the middle and focus
• Use the 5 buttons at the end of the axe (guitar), in conjunction with the strum bar. Press the appropriate note (indicated by color) and use the strum bar when the note reaches the top of the screen. The timing will take some getting used to, so don't panic
• Play the tutorials if this is your first time. They may drag a little bit, but they will really help. Make sure you learn how to Hammer on from the tutorial as experiencing it is the best way to learn it
• Use the Whammy Bar on long notes to make it wobble. This will net you some extra points, especially if the note has Star Power in it
• Access Star Power by tilting the head of the guitar up on the notes which have Stars on them. This will net you some extra points
• Keep at it! This game is tricky to learn, but is really fun once you get the hang of it
• Try not to think about people who might be watching. As with Dance Dance Revolution, it only takes one person staring and laughing at how ridiculous they think you look to turn you off to the game. Don't let this happen! Ignore all others and concentrate on the game! Don't let some ignorant jerk ruin your game experience

NOTE:

• The controller must be used with care to avoid injury
• The controller is for indoor use only and shoulder be kept away from open flames or other heat sources
• Do not leave the controller in a dusty or humid place
• Small children should be monitored at all times when using the controller
• Do not modify or disassemble the controller under any circumstances
• When no in use, make sure the controller is removed from playing area and properly stored
• Excess or improper use of the whammy bar can cause it to break
• Never stand on the controller
• Use a dry cloth to clean the controller, never use chemicals
