How to Assemble Bookmarks at Home:

• Pick out some scrap paper. This might be pages from a magazine, wallpaper samples, wrapping paper or even plain white printing paper
• Glue the scrap paper onto a thin piece of cardboard or cardstock. This will help prevent the bookmark from tearing. Wait for the glue to dry completely
• Cut the scrap paper out into a traditional, long rectangular shape. Or, be more creative and cut it out in whatever shape you like best: A heart, for example, or an arrow. Use decorative scissors or pinking shears to make the edges interesting
• Cut or punch a hole in the top of the bookmark. Tie ribbons through the hole. Use fabric or paper ribbons. Then, decorate the bookmark with stickers, markers or whatever else you have on hand. Place the bookmark in the book so that the ribbon trails out of it
