How to Make Glowing Ice Cubes?
Glowing ice cubes have become a popular decoration at nightclubs and parties but can become a colorful, eye-catching addition to any drinking glass. Although many party outlets and retail stores sell glowing ice cubes, they are simple and fun to make at home for a much lower cost. Consider making glowing ice cubes the next time you want to give a party or add excitement to a family dinner.- Cut off the ends of wires from 3 mm LED lights so that the individual lights fit in a slot of an ice cube tray.
- Take the soldering gun and solder a LED to the stripped wire.
- Measure distance. Take the soldered LED, place it in a slot in the ice cube tray and mark the places on the stripped wire where the rest of the LEDs should be soldered. You want one LED to fit in each slot in the ice cube tray.
- Solder the rest of the LEDS to the stripped wire.
- Arrange the LEDS in the ice cube tray. Fit one LED into each slot.
- Tape the stripped copper wire to the ice cube tray to keep the LEDS in place.
- Fill the tray with water.
- Put the tray in the freezer. Freeze overnight.
- Take the ice cubes out of the tray.
- Use the soldering gun to solder the 9V battery wires to the stripped copper wire.
- Enjoy. You can put your glowing ice cubes in a glass as a decoration or put the ice cubes back in the freezer to save for later.

05-24-2011- Other Thoughts: Received product properly packaged and functional. I don't agree with those who complained about insufficient light. This isn't a spotlight from a helicopter! Once you leave it the recommended 20" from a wall surface you get brilliant light from it. It is meant for ambient lighting, not normal lighting replacement. Colors are vibrant and intensity of the colors can be adjusted as well. Automatic cycling functions and the ability to set how often it changes colors were also good functions. Great product!

05-23-2011- Other Thoughts: Honestly love this product. Subtle enough to not blind people, but bright enough to be noticed. The fact that it has 16000 colors is mind boggling, and a remote makes it super exciting. Plus the unit itself is sort of a conversation piece!

The colors are so bright and vivid it can change the color of any room completely and they are bright enough to see and work in. I use it in my bedroom when I work on my computer, it works very nicely depending on how I feel.

05-13-2011- Other Thoughts: I love this thing. I have a high ceilings in my main room. I have 5 of these in a row, three hidden behind my big screen. You can see that my house glows a certain color from the inside, from half a block away. <br/>It is nearly bright enough at 5 units to provide decent indirect light for my room at full blast. I'm ordering two more today, and I think it will then be ideal.

05-03-2011- Other Thoughts: Great product, would like to be able to connect to a computer or Iphone to set some lighting scenarios. <br/> <br/>Only small downside, a little buzzing sound when operating, very hard to hear but does bring concerns over EM fields or just electric connections... <br/> <br/>A little bit expensive, but definetely good for creating moods!

04-30-2011- Other Thoughts: Well, this has become a nice addition to my home. I use it to light up an area in my sun room. I love being able to change the color of the light for whatever style I desire. The remote seems to work well for me. I really like the convenience of the remote, because it allows me to turn it off and set the brightness and color, without manually setting it.

04-19-2011- Other Thoughts: This is a very cool product!! Not exactly practical but very cool. <br/> <br/>I don't know if it displays quite as many colors as it claims but the colors are beautiful. I initially used this in a pink room with great results. Once I finished my testing, I put it in my teenage son's white-walled bedroom so he could enjoy it. It's been a month and it still works fine. Colors are much more vivid in his room. <br/> <br/>My biggest fear is that it would easily break if it accidentally falls. The shape, while unique and aesthetically appealing, doesn't make it easy to place on a shelf safely. I know I read a review from someone that mounted a series of these lights. Not THAT would look cool. My son has it on top of his low bookcase and that seems to work well so far. <br/> <br/>Overall a fun novelty item. A bit pricey but if used for decorating, would be worth the money. I don't think I'd buy it at the current sale price for a novelty item though.
