Tips on Using FM Transmitters with Your MP3 Player:

It's easy to set up and the sound quality is perfect once you set the iPod volume at the right level. I especially love the fact that I paid under $20 what most retailers are selling for $50 and up. A whole lot of bang for my buck, I recommend this to any iPod owner!

When I bought this I was a little hesitant seeing that it was so cheap. Upon arrival I was still wary, it looked cheaply made, but after I found the right radio station for it to play on I was amazed. This transmitter has great sound quality and it's easy to use. Overall, it's a bit bulky but it has nice sound for the price and does the job I needed it to.

I love this product! It is very easy to use, and it makes listening to music/talking on the phone much easier in the car. The 'snake arm' adjusts to fit the power outlet in my car, and there is a tilt ability for the actual holder. This fits my iPhone 3G with a thick case on. It can also adjust smaller than that for a regular iPod. The sound quality is near perfect - you just have to turn up the radio a little higher than normal. The FM transmitter adjusts to any FM channel. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone. This isn't a name brand product, but I would consider it comparable to one.

I was a little nervous buying this transmitter becasue the reviews on similar products weren't so great. I ended up buying this one and am glad I did. It was easy to setup, worked on the first station it was set to. I even have music on that station where I live and there was no interference from it. What is FM transmitter?
An FM transmitter is a portable device that plugs into the headphone jack or proprietary output port of a portable audio or video device, such as a portable media player, CD player, or satellite radio system. The sound is then broadcast through the transmitter, and plays through an FM broadcast band frequency. Purposes for an FM transmitter include playing music from a device through a car stereo, or any radio.

How much frequency from FM Transmitter?
Most devices on the market typically have a short range of up to 30 feet (9 meters) (up to about 75 feet (23 meters) with a very good radio under perfect conditions with any average radio and can broadcast on any FM frequency from 76.0 to 108.0 MHz (or 88.1 to 107.9 in the US). Some lower-cost transmitters are hard-wired to the 87.7-91.9 MHz band allocated to educational broadcasts in the United States, or a certain other smaller range of frequencies.

Why does my FM transmitter get interference in one particular area?
Check for power lines in that area. The big, high voltage kind that carry a lot of power. These cause a lot of interference. The interference may not be getting into the FM transmitter, but directly into your radio or iPod. Turn off the iPod and see if you get the interference when you're using just the radio.
