The fan intake for the cool air to get into the case is usually at the bottom, so kee your laptop on a hard surface so that the feet on the bottom of the case provide an air gap for cool air to get in.

The Room temperature, running your laptop in a room that is 30 degrees celsius does not give the fan much chance to do its job, since the air that it is taking in is pretty hot anyway, so keep your room at a reasonable temperature.

Out of sunlight: Chances are the case is black, or has metal parts. This conducts the ehat from the sun very easily, making the inside of your case as good as an oven.

Keep the fan clean - The fan will attract dust, theres no stopping it really. You have to manage the dust build up by a regular cleaning of the fan intake, making sure that there is no dust clogging up the intake.

If you are going to use it on your lap, get a tray or something to put under it, It is cooler on your legs and will not block the vents on the bottom of the machine. A cooling pad will do that.

Which ever one you decided to get make sure there's 2 fans and it's aluminium as well. But keep in mind this is only a benefit if you leave your notebook on all day for example if you're downloading something that takes about 2 whole days or more. Then that would be more ideal. Every notebook you buy out in the market they are guarantee to get hot and even when they claim that the cpu are cooler they can't justify how long you use the computer for. The problem is the air circulation in the laptop casing most of them can't seem to conduct heat properly and it draws a lot of heat from all over the place your cpu, your hard drive, your disc drive, and of course your motherboard chip set etc
