Help! iPhone vs Washing Machine

Well it happened, an accident but nonetheless my iPhone had a tumbled in the washer. It's been a day and I managed to charge it up again. Everything seems to be working fine, but the backlight is not working. I can make out what is on screen but have to have good lighting to see. Can this be fixed? The backlight? Anyone with a similar experience of problem?

Believe it or not but put your iphone in a sealed bag with uncooked rice. It draws out the moisture.

Backlight is built into the LCD, would need to replace the screen id imagine. Split it open and check the screen connections are secure and not full of water too?
