    Waterproof Keyboard, Good Key Response

I don't care about wireless, I would actually prefer wired. The problem I was having was that I am a fast typer (65wpm, 80 with caffeine), and if I feel the key 'press', I expect it to register on the computer – not with this keyboard, it seems. Even when deliberately typing 'heavily', it would be missing a letter or two out of each sentence, at a minimum.
My primary goal is to have a keyboard I can easily clean, and if possible have a backlight that can be turned on/off easily. I know others have put their keyboards through the dishwasher and had them survive, but I don't think any of those had backlights.

Ok so you dont want water proof. You just want moisture/food/gunk/slobber proof.
Maybe a sillicone keyboard cover is suitable for you. These just go over the top of the keyboard and designed so that you just use them on top the normal keyboard as normal.

If drinks or drool or grubby fingers (babies about lol) or other things mess up my keyboard, I'd like to be able to wipe it off and know it's clean and hasn't just got stuff festering away underneath the keys.
It might have been fine for 'two finger typists', especially if they're only putting in simple commands or figures into a table etc, since these are easily double-checked and corrections wouldn't be so bad – but having to stop every second word in a 200-word post to put in missing letters isn't functional enough for my needs.

I know several wather/dust/explosive proof. But they are right out of your range. Are you talking moisture proof or water proof? There is a difference.
