PSP or DS?

I have both ^^;
Well, for starters you need to think about what they would like more, button mashing action, rpg, puzzle, ect.
There are a lot more mature games out there for the PSP, as well as a lot more "action/adventure."
There are tons of fun and puzzle games for the DS.
Personally I like the PSP because of memory stick capabilities, but for most people that translates to just Movies, Music, and Photos.
The DS is definitely more of a game console, while the PSP makes a nice Mp3 player if you buy a 1~4GB memory stick (2GB/4GB ipods=same sizE! D:)
I like the innovative stylus for the DS, it makes it different and fun, just don't lose it or you'll be forced to use your finger.
As for wireless connectivity, BOTH have it.
PSP-2000 has the video plug in, but you have to buy the COMPONENT, NOT COMPOSITE cables to use it with games.
Personally, I think the closer you hold the screen to your face, the bigger it is ^^;
Really, for 6~8 year olds, I would suggest the DS and fun games.
If you think your kids are more action/adventure people, then the PSP.
Eitherway I don't think they'll be unhappy that you're buying them something so cool! :D
OR, You could get two mini-magazines, one on the DS and the other on the PSP and see which one they pick up. >_>;;
