Does anyone know how to stop some services on my Android phone (version 2.2.2)? I'm referring to services like Google Maps, Yahoo messenger, Market or News: I always have to use "Advanced Task Killer" application to kill those services, in order to save battery.

Do you want to just temporarily stop them, or kill them totally? I think you can either disable or delete them. Those particular apps shouldn't really keep running when you log out.

I use advanced task killer for manually stopping the running services. However, they keep restarting by themselves even if I don't use them (for instance Yahoo Mail, Yahoo Messenger or Skype). Is there something similar with Windows Service where you stop them for good?

I think you can disable it in your settings page. However, stopping it manually works better for me.
