I got four boxes of these matches so I was motivated to learn how to use them. I had read the directions about poking them into the lid. I tried stroking and poking at various angles and finally got one to light after about 10 minutes. It burned down to the wood portion and went out. Incidentally, these matches are a bit short. Perhaps one is supposed to light them with a lighter!

Received these matches in a couple of days. These will be useful if ever needed...keep some handy with some plumbers candles in various places...home, car, and work etc. I dipped 3 of the matches in water and all 3 lit. great product at a great amazon price.

I ordered these matches to customize for my wedding. They arrived in perfect condition, had strong cardboard, and the match heads look to be thick enough to strike easily.

These work excellent, and almost anywhere.getting it to me fast! I prefer the strike anywhere kind myself, but for lighting candles, pilots, and starting bonfires, I keep a box of these handy.

Why can't we buy these in the store anymore? It is so nice to be able to strike the match anywhere - you can take a few with you in your pocket and not have to have the entire box. Just pull one out and strike it anywhere - even on your zipper! Marvelous invention - why is it sometimes we had better things years ago!
