How to Connect a USB Cable to a Nintendo DS:
- Purchase a Nintendo DS compatible flash memory card such as an "R4 Revolution Card" and a DS compatible USB cable (see Resources below)
- Remove whatever cartridge is in your Nintendo DS and replace it with the flash memory card. Power on your computer and wait for the operating system to finish loading. Turn on the Nintendo DS
- Plug one end of the DS compatible USB cable into the Nintendo DS and then connect the other end to an open USB port on your computer. Wait for a new window to appear on the screen, asking what action you want to take
- Click on the link labeled "Open a new folder to view files." Minimize the window when it pops up and open your web browser by double-clicking on its desktop icon. Navigate to a website that offers games and applications for the Nintendo DS (see Resources below)
- Locate the program you want to transfer to the Nintendo DS and click on the download link. Open the "My Computer" icon on your desktop and navigate to the location where the file was saved
- Click on the file and then drag it into the window you opened earlier to transfer it to the Nintendo DS. Close both of the windows and then remove the USB cable
How to Wire Video Cables:
- Cut your video cable to the required length. Use the shortest length possible as the quality of your video picture will deteriorate the further it has to travel
- Separate the video cable into three parts. Measure 2 inches from the end of the video cable and split the cable into three up to the 2-inch mark. If the video cable has an outer cover protecting all three cables, strip 2 inches of the covering using a knife, then separate three wires. The center core of each wire will be colored differently: red, white (or black) and yellow. Each center core will be screened with a wire mesh
- Strip approximately1/2-inch of the plastic covering each of the video cables to reveal the wire mesh. Carefully undo the wire mesh then twist it to form a small wire strip. You will now have three colored wires
- Remove 1/4-inch of the colored plastic with a small knife wire to expose the inner wire. You have three inner wires and three outer wires formed from the wire mesh
- Coat the six wires in solder. Place the wires in a small clamp. Touch the top of each wire with the soldering iron and introduce the solder. Let a small amount of solder melt then remove the soldering iron and solder from the wire. The Solder will run down the exposed wire coating it. Let the wires cool
- Unscrew the red cap from the RCA jack plug. If it doesn't have a tread then pull the cover from the main metal part of the RCS jack. Place the cover over the red wire so the part that joins the main part of the RCS jack faces the end of the wire
- Solder the red wire to the central pin of the jack. It's best to clamp the pin so it doesn't move. It also gets very hot. Place the red wire next to the pin then touch the wire with the soldering iron to heat the solder. The solder will melt covering the pin and wire. Remove the soldering iron and allow the jack and wire to cool
- Solder the outer strip of twisted wire that forms part of the red wire. Place the wire on the outer metal tab of the jack. Touch the wire and tab with the soldering iron and allow the solder to melt. Remove the soldering iron and allow to cool. Screw or push the red cover over the metal jack to complete wiring the red (right) audio cable
- Repeat steps six through eight using the white (or black) jack and the white wire to complete wiring the white (left) audio cable
- Repeat Steps 6 through 8 using the yellow jack and the remaining yellow wire to complete wiring the yellow video cable
- Repeat Steps 2 through 10 to wire RCA jacks to the other end of your video cable. Insert the plugs at each end of the video cable into your equipment. Once the plugs are inserted in the two pieces of equipment, stereo sound and video pictures will be transmitted

01-07-2011- Other Thoughts: Sound quality is fine, for my uses it caused no extra distortion, and the video wire is reinforced for higher picture quality as well. Don't think to hard about it

01-26-2011- Other Thoughts: RCA cable's indvidual wires for Audio/Video are those thick ones. Not like the cheap and thin RCA cables that come free with DVD players.
