How to Clean an LCD?

LCD, also known as Liquid Crystal Display, can be found in many electronic devices such as televisions, laptops, computer monitors, cell phones and PDA devices. Unlike older glass displays, LCD screens are made of a soft filmy plastic that must be properly cleaned and maintained in order to avoid scratching and irreparable damage. Selecting the correct cloth and cleaning solution is important, as a harsh cloth or abrasive cleaner can cause a display to have cloudy spots, scratches and even dead pixels.
Instructions:
1 Turn off your LCD electronic display.
2 Prepare a solution of 50 percent isopropyl alcohol and 50 percent distilled water. Pour the mixture into a spray bottle.
3
Lightly spray the solution on a lint-free microfiber cloth.
4 Use the dampened microfiber cloth to gently clean the LCD screen. Use a circular motion and minimal pressure. Do not rub the cloth back and forth from left to right, and do not press hard or use a scrubbing motion.
5 Allow to completely dry before turning on your electronic device.
6 Dust gently with a lint-free microfiber cloth in between cleanings.
