How to Recycle Ice Cube Trays:

In many homes today, ice makers have relegated plastic ice cube trays to a storage shelf. With their neat little divided compartments, ice cube trays can be recycled in lots of clever ways. Dust off your plastic ice cube trays and read the following list of suggestions for ideas to recycle them.

    • Instructions
    • Tidy up the junk drawer. Slide an ice cube tray into the drawer to hold paper clips, thumb tacks, stamps, rubber bands, paper clips and other odds and ends.
    • Organize the workbench. Use ice cube trays to sort screws, bolts, nails and other small parts.
    • Create a painter's palette. Mix paints in the individual compartments of a sturdy plastic ice cube tray.
    • Keep parts organized by storing them in sequence. Disassemble a small appliance for repair and sort the parts in order to facilitate easier re-assembly. Use masking tape to mark the sequence.
    • Chop veggies for soups and stews and freeze for future use. Dice onions, celery, parsley, carrots or other vegetables, place them in the ice cube trays, add a little water and freeze. Pop them out when frozen and store in self-sealing plastic freezer bags.
    • Make a batch of soup stock. Store the cubes in self-sealing plastic freezer bags. Use the cubes of chicken or beef stock to flavor quick-cook dishes. Do the same with leftover red or white wine and use it in pasta sauces and casseroles.

How to Fill an Ice Cube Tray:

Making your own ice at home is a cost friendlier way to keep your drinks cold than purchasing bags of ice from the store. Filling ice trays is an easy task that provides you with the ability to freeze a variety of liquids, whether you're making flavored ice cubes, normal ice cubes or tasty treat.

    • Instructions
    • Select a clean ice tray that is large enough to make the amount of ice that you want. They come in a variety of shapes, sizes and textures.
    • Fill each receptacle of the ice tray with the liquid you have chosen, whether it be bottled water, tap water or a fruit juice of some kind. Fill each one all the way full. Standard ice tray receptacles are between 1 and 2 oz. each in volume. If there are ridges or indentations in the ice tray receptacles use them as guides on how full to fill each one. This keeps the water from overflowing in the tray.
    • Place the filled ice tray carefully into your freezer.

great

It's a great investment and I only wish I had bought one years ago. It does take a bit of effort to pull the lever and free the ice, but way less effort than it has always taken me to wrestle with the cubes that get stuck in the plastic trays.

These ice cube trays are built to last forever. So, pay the price to get things of quality that don't poison you. If I think about that way I think they are a deal. Just buy them and you won't regret it.

Cube Tray

I'd been fighting cheapy plastic ice cube trays for years, when I found these stainless steel beauties online. They're just like the ones I remember growing up -- cranking back the handle and feeling the ice cubes crackle and groan as they're set free. And the Stainless Steel is just beautiful. <br/>I love my new ice cube trays !!

Ice Cube Tray

Pretty simple: pour water in, place in freezer, pull the handle when it's frozen. Cubes come out nice and symmetric. After many years of plastic trays that crack and leak, this is a pleasant change. I will probably buy another

Non-toxic Ice Cube Tray
00:00:00 05-25-2011
As far as metal ice trays on the net, these are the best I've found so far. I tried the aluminum trays on amazon and they broke in a little over a month. If you're looking to cut out toxic chemicals in your life like my wife and I are, then this is the best quality. I'll be sure to update this review if something bad happens. But, for now, these trays are very sturdy and solid.

Ice Cube Tray

We're very happy with the ice cube trays - remember the old aluminum ones that became so dented that the ice wouldn't come out anyway??? These trays are stainless steel and probably will never dent! Thanks

Plastic Ice Cube Tray
00:00:00 05-09-2011
I had been using plastic ice cube trays and after awhile the water started smelling and tasting bad..I got a couple of aluminum trays, but they broke after a couple of weeks. I now have the stainless steel tray and it's working beautifully..no more odor or bad taste and it's very sturdy. I will probably buy another soon..Love it!

Non-toxic Ice Cube Tray
00:00:00 05-04-2011
For the most part, I am happy with this ice cube tray. It is very sturdy but sometimes the ice cubes won't come out and I have to run hot water on the back of the tray for them to release. Other than that, good product
