How to Use Lens Hood in Studio:

    LVSHI Camera Lens Hood ET-60 for Canon EF 55-250 / 75-300 / 90-300mm

    • Remove the lens cap from the camera
    • Attach the lens hood to the camera. Lens hoods attach by screwing into, clipping onto, or fitting over the outside of the lens
    • Check the shadow of the lens hood. If direct light is passing into the lens, it will appear as a "lens flare". Adjust the lens hood to block direct light by twisting it on the lens
    • Check the position of the lights, reflectors and subject. Using a lens hood is preferable in a studio situation in which the lights, reflectors, and subject are set up optimally, but light is still directly entering the lens and causing flares. If there is no better orientation for the studio lighting equipment or subject, a lens hood is the best choice to block excess, flaring light

How to Connect a Canon Lens Hood:

    Lens Hood

    • Attach the lens to the camera body by aligning the red dot on the lens with the red dot on the camera body. If it is an EF-S lens, you will be attaching the white square to the white square instead of red dots
    • Align the red dot on the lens hood with the red dot on the end of the lens. The red dot is the same on all lens hoods, regardless if it is an EF lens or an EF-S lens
    • Turn the lens hood clockwise until it locks into place. The red dot on the camera should align with the line and circle on the lens hood. The lens hood is now connected to the camera lens

    Package Included:

00:00:00 09-30-2011 Excellent Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: This seemingly simple piece of molded plastic was recommended to me by a professional photographer. Basically it's the shape of an open box that slides firmly onto the flash. It is small and sturdy enough to stash in your camera bag without worrying about damage. When used the light disperses more evenly and is less harsh on the subject being photographed. Inexpensive solution for better flash photography. A quality product that works.

  • Other Thoughts: This was the first purchase I made from Dinodirect. Communication was excellent, product was as described, and shipping was outstanding - considering the item came from China. I highly recommend this website for their prices, and honoring their claims about the products they sell!

  • Other Thoughts: The site is very well organized and easy to find what I wanted with some extra details that helped me to decide what I was going to get for a new product. The selection is so large that I called the company for some help and did they help. The representative gave me the information that I needed and helped me put in the order. Dinodirect is now my favorite company for all my needs. The price is very reasonable. I wish there were more company's like this one.

00:00:00 09-14-2011 Nice! Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: Turned my 10D into a little point and shoot using this diffuser. Now we just leave the camera laying around the house and the camera lens hood does a nice job of diffusing the built-in flash. Much easier to manage than DIY jobs and reasonably priced.

00:00:00 09-08-2011 Does the job Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: This lens hood definitely takes the sharp edges off of the shadows. I have to shape it a little to make it work just right, but after the first time, it keeps its shape so I don't have to continuously worry about it.

00:00:00 09-03-2011 "I will buy again" Overall:
  • Other Thoughts: It's basically as advertised - cheap, lightweight; but stiff at first, and not necessarily the most practical to put on every time.
