Tape dispensers are useful in both the home and office setting. They make getting a piece of tape easy enough to do with one hand. You can buy dispensers that hold masking tape, gift tape or packaging tape. There are even tape dispensers that hold more than one roll of tape. Preparing to use your tape dispenser for the first time is super simple. It takes less than one minute and after you have done it once, you will never forget how.- Read the packaging on your tape dispenser to find out what size roll of tape fits inside. You can buy tape rolls from your local office store. Once you have the tape rolls home, remove them from their packaging.
- Lift the wheel from where it rests in the center of your tape dispenser. There should be nothing holding it in place.
- Slide your tape roll onto the wheel of the tape dispenser. It should fit snugly so that the wheel will turn when you pull the tape.
- Set the wheel back into the center of the tape dispenser. There are slots in the middle, on either side of the dispenser, which the arms of the wheel fit into. Make sure the tape roll is facing the proper direction. You should be pulling the tape toward the metal cutter.
- Find the end of the tape and pull it toward the metal cutter on the tape dispenser. Pull the tape down onto the cutter so that the end of the tape is cut off. The tape should then stick to the cutter so that when you need more tape, all you do is lift the end, pull out and down and cut another piece off.
How to Use Packing Tape Dispenser:
Packing tape dispensers allow the user to seal box flaps and other shipping containers quickly and efficiently with one hand without pausing to cut tape with scissors or untangle tape that folds over on itself. Most tape dispensers are made in the general shape of a handgun, with a pistol grip and trigger mechanism for cutting tape.- Close and align the flaps on the box for a straight edge.
- Place the tape dispenser on the edge of the box with the tape sticking to it and overlapping the box flaps on both sides.
- Place your free hand over the tape stuck to the box flaps, pulling the dispenser back with your other hand across the box flaps to seal the package with tape.
- Pull the dispenser down the edge of the box a few inches and squeeze the trigger to cut the tape.
- Press down the edge of the cut tape with your open hand to flatten and seal it against the box.
- Repeat as necessary to secure the box for shipping or storage.

I have a business packing items and having one hand to hold the items while one hand works the tape is essential. Way too many dispensers require two hands. It's a fair price for what you get if what you want is a solid stable dispenser. A definite buy.
