How to Replace a Cell Phone Keypad?

Changing cell phone keypads may be easy or hard, depending on the model of cell phone you have. However, being able to switch out an old keypad for a new one should not be so difficult that you need professional help. Just be sure to have all the tools you need handy when you begin the process.- Remove the back of the phone using a screwdriver or by unsnapping it. Depending on the phone model, your cell could be held together either by screws or by snap closures.
- Remove the battery, and take the screws out of the top of the phone. Some phones have snap closures instead of screws, so be careful not to break them as you unsnap them.
- Remove the casing that covers the keypad. Depending on your model, there may be extra screws. If so, remove them.
- Once all screws are removed, gently pull out the phone frame. At this point, you should be able to switch out your keypad and then reassemble your phone.
- Replace the battery and the casing that covers the keypad with the screws or snap closures and securely attach the back of the phone. Be sure to test your keypad to make sure it is functional

05-06-2011- Other Thoughts: I must admit to being a little afraid when I took it out of the box-- After all, with the varied models of PPC out there, who can be sure that a product will work on yours specifically? However, the installation went flawlessly, and the only issue I've ever had is that when you close the keyboard, you get a feeling that you might break it-- but you won't! I've dropped this thing a couple times, being a natural klutz, and no harm has yet come to it. I recommend it!

05-02-2011- Other Thoughts: I got my keyboard for my MOTOROLA L6. It gave me no problem at all for my phone to recognize the keyboard, It works great every time and makes it very easy for me to write long emails or to type full documents using my windows mobile phone. Its great because this way I don't have to carry my laptop all over the place,

04-22-2011- Other Thoughts: I just love this keyboard. I've used it with my MOTOROLA L6 and now with my unlocked iphone using BTstack Keyboard from Cydia. The only issue is that it really needs an extra row of keys. The numbers and symbols are placed on the top row of letters (where the letters QWERTYUIOP are in the keyboard). To access a number, you need to press the left function key and the corresponding letter. To type a symbol, you need to press the right function key and the corresponding letter. I work in finance and many of my annotations need numbers and symbols, like 10% for example. For that, it takes a long time. I find it easier to type "ten pc" instead of 10%.

04-10-2011- Other Thoughts: This will work great with MOTOROLA L6. When you open it, you do need to press and hold the cntrl, FN (blue) and FN (green) key to activate the keyboard (with batteries working of course.) Then you get the bluetooth connected with the setup entering the numbers and you are good to go. <br/> <br/>Took off the top piece which is easy enough to do. The keyboard is a great match with its small size to the iPad, no speed compromises required.
