How to Use the Surge Solar Charger for the Ipod Touch:
- Take your Surge out of the box. You will have a USB Cable, Surge, and instruction booklet, and the Novothink cord. You will want to charge the Surge for 3 hours prior to using the Surge for the best performance. This will allow the internal battery to be fully charged. So take the USB cable and plug it into the bottom of the charger and the other end into the USB port of your computer. Keep your ipod touch unplugged from the solar charger. You want your surge solar charger to get the best charge
- Once you have completed the 3 hours of charging you may unplug the charger from the computer, if you want or keep syncing music back and forth with the USB cable. Once you unplug the charger you will be able to use it with your ipod touch. You can also put it in front of the sun when you run out of battery life
- If you decide to use your ipod touch immediately, you will want to slide your ipod touch from the very top and slide it into the surge solar charger, if you try to jam it in there you will damage your solar charger or ipod touch or possibly both. You will need to plug in your ipod touch ear plugs into the bottom of the Surge solar charger. These ear plugs will fit perfectly into the solar charger

06-04-2009- Other Thoughts: I'm very intrasted in useing solar and hoped that this charger would be a good way to get started. I got this little light weight pannel and let it charge in my window (facing the South) for less then a day and it was enough to charge my cell phone. <br/>I have not tested it on my iPod or player (which looks like it might be compatable)but so far so good. I intened to use solar now to power as much as I can.

01-26-2011- Other Thoughts: it is amazing, an can be used as a backup batery, charged on the computer, and is just amazing! i would reccomend it to anyone who has an iPod, cell phone, or anything that can be charged by a usb plug. even has a LED light that can be moved arround, just amazing. i would reccomend this over other solar chargers.

04-22-2011- Other Thoughts: Solar chargers can be underwhelming at times. Well worth having around for emergencies. Be well aware however, that solar energy can only halfway charge the battery, since at higher charges it cant do sufficient work on the battery to keep up charging after a certain point, but a great value otherwise.

03-05-2011- Other Thoughts: This charger does everything it says it will do. The other reviews are correct. If you are looking to buy a good charger that actually charges easily and is light weight, this is it. We use it for our itouch and mobile phones while backpacking and will be using it this summer while in Europe.
