8 Tips For Preventing Swine Flu

Swine influenza (also swine flu) refers to influenza caused by any strain of the influenza virus endemic in pigs (swine). Strains endemic in swine are called swine influenza virus (SIV)
As it investigates recent incidents of swine influenza in humans, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is stressing prevention. The agency has posted several Web pages dealing with swine flu, including a list of what you can do to forestall this — or any infectious disease. The CDC recommends taking these everyday precautions:

Avoid contact with people if you, or they, are sick.

Stay at home — from work, school or other public activities — when you are ill.

Shield others from your coughs and sneezes by using a tissue.

Wash your hands often.

Keep your hands away from your eyes, nose or mouth.

Maintain healthful habits — get ample sleep and exercise, drink fluids, eat well.

Wear mask——The data shows that masks do work - as long as there is a tight seal about the mouth and nose,when wear a mask, be sure to pinch the metal strip across your nose down snug, and tighten the straps so the mask touches skin around all .the edges. And shave that beard.

Taking temperatures now and then-make sure a thermometer is Available. when you are not feeling well, take your temperature to see if you’ve got a fever.
