How to Remove Rust From a Battery Charger:
Most people have a few battery chargers. The chargers are for cell phones, cordless phones, power tools, small household appliances and any number of other things. The rust occurs if the coating on the charger becomes scratched, revealing the underlying metal. If the charger is then stored in damp basements or humid kitchens, rust may develop on the charger. In time the rust spreads, possibly making the charger inoperable. The first thing to do is to remove the rust as soon as it starts to develop.
Things You'll Need:
- Scrubbing pad
- Mineral oil
- Paper towels
- White vinegar
Instructions:
- Scrub off the rust. Use a scrubbing pad to get rid of the rust on the battery charger. This is the easiest way to get rid of surface rust and small rust stains
- Apply mineral oil. Buy mineral oil from a hardware store. Use a paper towel to apply a small amount of oil to the battery charger. Wait 10 minutes for the charger to absorb the oil, then scrub of the rust using a scrubbing pad. Wipe the area clean with a damp paper towel. Dry thoroughly before using the battery charger
- Use vinegar on the rust stains. Pour white vinegar into a paper towel and apply to the rust stains on the charger, then let the vinegar soak in for 15 minutes to 30 minutes. Scrub off the rust stains with a scrubbing pad and clean off the rust and vinegar completely. Dry the battery charger. White vinegar is a non-toxic home cleaning solution. The acetic acid in vinegar helps to remove rust stains

- Sometimes called a storage battery, a rechargeable battery consists of multiple cells. This enables the electrochemical reaction that powers the battery to be reversed. - Memory Effect: An effect mostly witnessed in Nickel Cadmium batteries, the battery seems to lose its maximum energy capacity if charged multiple times without being fully discharged.
- Energy-to-Mass Ratio: This refers to the energy density of the battery.
- Currently, Lithium ion batteries are the best performing rechargeable batteries if considering the above features.
- Considerations
- Many people avoid rechargeable batteries when given a choice because of a perceived higher cost. When you consider that rechargeable batteries can be reused multiple times, the savings of using them as opposed to one use batteries becomes clear

05-10-2011- Other Thoughts: After considering other AA and AAA rechargeable battery chargers I decided on this one, and it was the best decision i could have made. If perfectly charges all of my rechargeable AA and AAA batteries, and the refresh mode brought life back to even my oldest rechargeable AA's. Definitely worth the money.

04-26-2011- Other Thoughts: I'm glad I got this charger! I use it to recharge my batteries, but the best function is that it can tell me which ones are going bad. I love the lcd display that tells how much capacity each battery currently has and how much charge it holds. Reliable equipment is key to by business - I'm a pro photographer so having freshly charged batteries is critical to my daily work. The Maha Powerex MH-C900 ensures that I have good sets of fully charged batteries at all times. A+

05-24-2011- Other Thoughts: This unit will not disappoint. Best AA rechargeable charger out there. I'm a 'researchy' kind of guy, so I will research every purchase, even a purchase this small. And I did. Including reading all the reviews here. This charger does not disappoint. Nobody with a number of rechargable AAs should be without it. Does AAAs just as well. I'm puzzled at the people that will not give it 5 stars...I guess if you give some people a bar of gold, they will complain about how heavy it is...5 stars all the way.

05-06-2011- Other Thoughts: With almost 2 dozen AA batteries in use in our house at any one time, I decided to go to rechargeable batteries. I settled on this charger, in part because of reviews I read on it and haven't regretted it. This is a rather amazing device. The charger has four slots or bays and each bay can perform any one of 5 procedures and accommodate either AA or AAA batteries. Each slot is independent of the other 3 so at any one time the charger can be doing 4 different procedures on 2 different size of batteries. It's easy to use because it prompts you for the information it needs depending on the procedure you have asked it to do. So far it works exactly as advertised and I couldn't be more pleased.

05-22-2011- Other Thoughts: The item works as advertised. The thing I like most about it, is that it tells you the mAH of the battery. It did take a little while to come up the learning curve on all teh chargers features.
