A block is a term used for a chunk of memory without any specific size attached to it. Memory is divided into chunks to make addressing easier. Nintendo uses blocks to specify memory storage size as well as memory requirements, and there is a specific size associated with them.
Wii is the latest games console from gaming giant Nintendo. Wii is scheduled to be released in the fourth quarter of 2006. Wii aims to change the face of gaming, with a revolutionary controller and new types of games Nintendo are hoping to attract gamers who have never previously played.
Also with its 'virtual console' software, Wii will be able to play games from previous consoles such as the original NES, Super NES, N64, Sega Genesis (also known as Mega Drive) and the TurboGrafix 16. This will allow older gamers to relive their favourite games. Gamecube discs will also be playable on the Wii.
Wii already has a strong lineup of games in production, with many more to follow. Familiar characters like Mario and Link will make appearances, as well as new franchises.
Instead of just focusing on better graphics like their rivals, Nintendo are focused on delivering an improved, fun playing experience with better interactivity. The Wii will also retail at a much lower price than the other consoles. All in all the Wii is an exciting breakthrough in gaming.
Nintendo Wii has the most unique controller of any console of all time. Known as the Wiimote, it more resembles a TV remote control than a typical games paddle. At first glance it seems like a very simple device without many buttons, seemingly too few to adequately play modern games with. First impressions are very deceiving.
The Wiimote has motion sensors inside it, meaning that simply waving the controller in the air is a means of input in itself. The Wiimote also features force feedback, meaning events in the game can cause it to rumble for a more immersive feeling. It also has its own speaker, allowing for a depth of sound never before heard on any console.
