The shade outperforms other lens covers by not allowing the shaded corner that you get with similar lens covers. Its faster to install than the made to fit screw on, look alike, competitive products made to fit Canon lens.

I bought this lens hood instead of generic brands because it got better reviews and it's made by my lens manufacturer. The fit seems a little tight and I've had some trouble using it (I'm used to my old Tamron lens and hood) but it is very good quality and is meant to go with my lens.

Bought this and it works great. It does have black flocking inside, which is probably why it costs twice what the knockoffs do. I've always bought Canon lens hoods for my zooms and used them daily for years and never had one break on me.

The product doesn't do much other than block unwanted light but it serves its purpose. Its light weight and I'm really happy with it. I would highly recommend it.

Using this lens hood definitely has made a difference in glare and occasional "spottiness" that sometimes appeared in my pictures. The pedaled design makes it lightweight and easy to use. I know of others who had bought generic lens hoods, who have not been nearly as satisfied as I. I would purchase the same item again.

After using my lens on vacation and having a difficult time keeping sun flare off the lens, I finally decided to buy this product. Just completed doing an outdoor wedding and the sun was all over the place, and this hood did exactly what is supposed to do. Didn't ruin one shot because of sun flares. Easy to use and easy to store when not in use.

It has good construction, although sometimes it can be a little difficult to take on/off the camera. Better that than coming lose. <br/>Would recommend.
