I purchased this remote control for my mother who has some difficulty seeing and also has Alzheimers. She finds the remote control easier to use because the buttons are big enough to see versus the remote that came with the television.

I bought this item for my elderly aunt. She couldn't understand the buttons on the remote which comes with the TV and VCR. This remote is simple to use, and for a senior citizen, the buttons are large enough not to cause problems.

I've owned many supposed "universal" remotes over the years - they have all disappointed in one way or several. My needs were fairly simple...a device to turn on/off amp, TV, cable, VCR, DVD and CD players. Also to duplicate many of their separate functions. This surprisingly inexpensive remote does it all. The functions it doesn't duplicate automatically, it can learn from other remotes. It also can learn to operate a series of commands with the push of one button. The instructions are fairly easy to understand, and I am completely satisfied. I never would have imagined that such a cheap device could operate so comprehensively. I'm very grateful to the other reviewers here for rating this so highly. I probably never would have considered this one on my own, and their recommendations saved me a good bit of money.
