Product was easy to install. I installed 2 of these at different levels in my house. If one of the alarms goes off, the other one picks up the alarm signal and it goes off too. I like this feature, but others may not. The voice warning alarm is loud and clear. The battery back up is a nice feature. So far I haven't had any false alarms.

I never gave this monitor in our basement a second thought. It was here when we moved in 3 years ago. <br/>Since then I installed 2 other carbon monoxide monitors one on the 1st floor & 1 on the second floor. <br/>2 nights ago our exhaust pipe to our boiler exploded and the ONLY detector to go off was this old one in our basement. My husband thankfully was up late watching tv and heard the voice warnings. By the time he ran upstairs screaming to get our kids out our whole basement and 1st floor were covered in smoke. <br/>The fire dept. told us how high the levels were and we were very lucky to get out in time. Had we slept through it we would never have woken up. This saved 5 lives! Not to mention our 3 cats. <br/>I can't even imagine if we didn't have this monitor the thought of anything happening to my kids..

REMEMBER though that carbon monoxide should be detected at floor level. We also have a battery powered carbon monoxide detector in the room with our fireplace. We rely on this unit to wake us up if we are a sleep. It will still reach this detector before it reaches our bedrooms. An alarm is your only hope for carbon monoxide.
