I installed them so easy and that's including time looking for a place to mount the ballasts (and installing them in the cold/rain). The main problem is that they're fairly big (a little bigger than a deck of cards) and the wires coming from the ballast are not very long. I mounted the driver's side ballast onto my plastic outer battery cover and I tucked the passenger's side ballast behind my headlight assembly

if you want brilliant light output and your not to focused on having lights that produce a bluish output on the road. If you are focused simply on color then i recommend the H11 6000k kit which gives you more color and a little less light output, but would not recommed going no higher than 8000k as light output dimminishes dramatically and your left with pretty colorful headl lights but you won't be able to see anything at night.

If you have a skid plat, or any type of plastic that is usable, hard-mount the ballasts(All of them if they are in a vulnerable spot). Make sure to pay attention so that the red wire goes to the plus side of the ballast as I don't think the basics of wiring are shown and it is possible to turn the connection around. Also, if you get a kit with the pins that go seperately into the orignal light connector you can get those backwards as well.

The fog lights are the tricky ones. At first it seemed as if I had nowhere good to hard-mount the ballasts, so I used the tape on the bottom of the metal frames and wrapped the chords around the metal bar in front. This was a bad idea. One of them fell off, drug for a while, and eventually went under the tire and ripped off. Fortunately these things are very sturdy and I just put it back on and hard mounted to the skid plates underneat the oil pan.

The lights are much bighter as everyone says. I installed mine with no projectors, although you may want to get the projectors as it is illegal in most states to install without the projectors. I bought the kits to go on my 1999 Chevrolet Silverado. Now, the installation is as easy as you want it to be. The JLM kits come with metal ballast mounts and 3M style double sided tape. I hard-mounted the driver side headlights to what looks like a rectifier box. I mounted the passenger side headlights using the tape on top of the extra battery spot(which is usually on the driver side of Chevrolet trucks; Mine has the K&N cold air intake systme on that side).
