Gradual Lens Filter is a MUST HAVE for digital users, because the digital sensor unlike film has very low exposure tolerance. Detail will be lost on both low and high light area. The Gradual Red Filter is substitute for Cokin P series. Square Red Filter is ideal for digital users to balance it when detail is lost on both low and high light area. Gradual Red Filter Adds color selectively while leaving the rest of scene unaffected. Half color, half clear with a graduated density transition for smooth blending into the scene. Gradual Red Filter can be very useful for enhancing a grey and lackluster sky by giving it a sunnier aspect, something that a polarizing filter cannot do under these circumstances. Using the right gradual Square Red Filter will ensure that the image maintains a natural appearance. No other filter has done as much to improve landscape photography as the Gradual Lens Filter. Other Thoughts:Each filter is incredible. I actually once used the + 2 filter to magnify a picture that had been cut down to the size of a half dollar, centered it, and was able to save the clarity to process a 4x6 photo. It was unbeliveable!!!
Other Thoughts:If you are shooting outdoors it is a must have. You also get the 812 warming filter which I have found to bring great depths of warmth to photographs. Filters protect lenses and Tiffen I have found to be great quality and this is a great value.
