Easy installation as promised, and the night vision aspect is better than I had hoped. I love the ease in setting up masked areas and such.

Easy to install, network, and view online. Careful using staples to secure wiring, I damaged one cable and had to get another but the company sent one no charge. Defender customer service rocks.

We bought this DVR camera set because we have a solid steel door with no peep hole so we couldn't see outside. It works better than I expected when I bought it. We can almost walk around our entire house with it outside. We get some static in the back bedroom but that's not a big deal. The sound is really good and I like the fact that you can adjust the sensitivity. I would definitely recommend this product.

i will post pics later but my god...the clarity is amazing and its wireless...how i really saw the clarity was i plugged it into a tv set on the kitchen counter and the pic was like a camcorder recording...im dead serious, i truly cant believe the reception...buy buy buy this camera instead of that summer brand from T... we have that one and this blows it away...real person real nieces and nephews real wireless monitor...

Worked within 5 minutes right out of the box. Great picture upstairs when camera is downstairs. It will be interesting to see if the night vision lights reflect off the glass since I have the camera inside, pointing outside. No issues so far. Picture is very clear. Sound as well. Interface is very easy.

We purchased the DVR set for our new home to use in place of a peep hole for the front door. We didn't want to drill a hole in our new wood door and have never liked the way peepholes worked anyway. The Defender works great, we mounted the camera outside above the door and put the monitor inside the entry on the table. Now, no more guessing, who's at the door, and since we plugged both the camera and monitor into AC, there are no batteries to worry about.

I love this monitor! The talk back feature is great. we've had to replace our summer infant monitor twice (once each year) because the monitor just died. So this time I looked for another brand that was comparable in features. I'll let you know if this one lasts longer!

Pros: Both camera & DVR are solid; tough metal and rubberized housing. Good packaging including cables, TV & RCA adapters, leather pouch, camera mounts, charger, USB etc. Menu and settings on DVR are logical and easy to use. Video quality great on highest setting; pretty good on lowest. Also the audio is great too.

Cons:

Cons: Camera wire should be longer or include an extension cable. The mounts for the camera are very tight. Be careful; I broke one. *I thought the audio was bad, but I didn't have it connected right to my TV. The audio is clear as a bell.

Other Thoughts:

End: Very happy with it. This will be going on my motorcycle as a rear-view camera. In the car to track bad drivers. *Update, I used this to catch two criminals at work yesterday. Both our company and the police want to buy X camcorders after seeing it in action. ** A longer camera wire would be better. *** Also IR LED's on the camera would be great for night video.

End: Very happy with it. This will be going on my motorcycle as a rear-view camera and to take video of rides. Also, I may use it in the car to record bad drivers etc. I will recommend the X Camcorder and DinoDirect to friends. Three weeks shipping was great. Service was great, tracking was tricky but worked. Do not eat the bonus 'Magic Crystals', they are NOT candy.
