Plain and simple... this has proven to be a great hood for my Canon Vixia HG20. The main reason to use a hood of course is to prevent picture anomalies from light glancing the lens or filters at angles which can reasonably be prevented by a hood. The size and design of this hood are just right for almost any usual use.

Godd product. Be careful when tightening, the threads are plastic. If you are careful, it will tighten up and become part of the camera or camcorder.

After finding it futile and frustrating not to be able to find a suitable lens hood for my old camcorder here in the UK, I was delighted to find this one offered in the good old U.S. of A. I just purchased the camcorder and it didn't come with the round hood. After searching around and took the risk of ordering this one because other people said it wouldn't work with the CX550. <br/> <br/>It fits nicely to my HC9 and no problem with the wide angle. Nothing was obstructed in the view. It makes the camcorder looks really nice. I'm sure it will function well for its purpose of preventing glare.

This filter size was recommended by the site when I purchased camcorder lenses ( too small ). It looks like a good product ( 5 stars ). I will order the correct size of the same brand, if I can.

After using my lens on vacation and having a difficult time keeping sun flare off the lens, I finally decided to buy this product. Just completed doing an outdoor wedding and the sun was all over the place, and this hood did exactly what is supposed to do. Didn't ruin one shot because of sun flares.
