I work for the F.B.I. and we bought these because of all the computers we confiscate. It got very unpractical keeping all these computers as evidence now we make a case against you we pull your hard drive only and use this dock. Plus then our computers can crack your passwords and encryption rather then using your piece of crap computer that we confiscated. So if you deal with multiple computers like we do this item is a must have it saves time and space!

A great deal. I have had mine for a while now and have had absolutely no problems with it. it arrived quickly and in perfect condition. a breeze to use. no delay in the system recognizing it and logging any drive put into it. I would recommend to anyone looking for a SATA to USB dock for notebook or for desktop. i do not consider it "cheap plastic" at all. i don't even know why that was an option in rating this item.

I can't say how well it works because this is the first one I got. I needed to transfer data from the hard drive of a broken laptop and it did just that. Other reviews said something about the power button not working, well mine woks fine.

read the other reviews and some people said it worked with osx and some said it didn't figured for the price it was worth the chance. It DOES work with osx and works very well. Excellent product and great price!

It works great. You can use 2 size hard drive. The only con is that doesn't have the safe remove hardware .

Ordered two of them for my HP Windows Home Server. Easy to use, just plug in the power supply, hook up the USB cable and install the drive. Once everything is hooked up, turn it on by pressing the power button that also serves as the "on" indicator led. This seems to be the weak link in the system, the on off switch. I had to press it several times to get it to come on, the same for my second unit. Switch could be of a better quality. Other wise, it works good.

The picture looks exactly like another product that's more expensive. So I bought this instead to save a few bucks (and I can't use the eSATA interface the other product offers on my home computer). The drive spun up, the lights came on, and nobody was home, with my brand new Seagate drive not being recognizable to my Windows 7 system
