Good product. <br/>Only used it a couple times. Ben to busy fishing Lake Okeechobee. <br/>It cuts down the suns glare in pictures on the lake. must take hood off for flash pictures, or you get a shadow effect.

If you photograph outdoors, you need to have this in your kit along with the UV filter. Its original canon and priced just right.

Nice lens hood although I don't have any experience with third party hoods. Velvet in the inside is very nice. I guess thats for even more anti-glare/reflection, and might protect against scratches. So 5 stars for that.

its a piece of plastic...it blocks excess light like it should, but be warned if you use the on camera flash you will get shadows at lower focal lengths. At 17mm the shadows from the pop up flash take out the corners of the photo completely. <br/> <br/>Shooting outdoors this Camera Lens Hood is amazing in my opinion. between my filter and this hood my pictures are looking better than ever. <br/> <br/>If you have the lens, buy this hood.

This small and cheep Digital Camera Hood can save you realy a lot of money. It's doeing it job wonderful keeps you pictures brigth and clear, but also the hood protect you lens from a lot of things which trying to hit you lens.

After using my lens on vacation and having a difficult time keeping sun flare off the lens, I finally decided to buy this product. Just completed doing an outdoor wedding and the sun was all over the place, and this hood did exactly what is supposed to do. Didn't ruin one shot because of sun flares. Easy to use and easy to store when not in use.

I purchased this Camera Lens Hood cover and yes it's a good sturdy plastic material and it works great! i have a canon eos rebel t2i and it fits on there perfectly even with a filter lens intact.
