About a month ago my daughter bought one, works perfectly on her very fine medium lenght, wavy, limp hair. Gives it body and straightens it without frizzing. She has paid more for professional type flat irons that fried her hair and didn't do half the job. So I tried it--I'm 60 with short somewhat wavy hair with no body. Hair always needed lots of product to give it any lift. Now I use no products!! My hair looks the best it ever has. We have had no mechanical problems with our instylers. Also, neither one of us has burned ourselves. Perhaps that's because we both have tried many, many different types of curling irons, flat irons, etc. and have learned how not to burn ourselves. All of these types of machines have the potential to burn a person with just a tiny slip of the hand. Seriously, I cannot consider ever going without an iron hair straightener now.

I have thick, wavy/frizzy hair that I have to straighten in order to have any semblance of style. For years I've had to do the time-consuming routine of drying my hair with a big brush (lots of pulling and rolling) and then straightening it with a flat iron. Even then with my Chi iron I rarely achieved a perfect style. If my hair was straightened enough it tended to be flat and by the end of the day a lot of wave/frizz would come back. With the In Styler I'm able to let my hair dry naturally (a huge time-saver)and then straighten all at once. The difference between the In Styler and regular flat irons is that the brush digs into your hair and gives you silky, straightened hair with lots of body. Plus, your hair stays styled throughout the day. This is the first time my hair truly looks salon-styled everyday. I can't rave enough about this hot iron hair straightener!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE this professional hair straightener,. It is so much more than a straightener. It gets every single bit of frizz out, but also adds curl and body. It is real easy to use too. I am a little bit worried about burning myself though. There isn't anywhere on the end to hold. Takes some getting used to holding it differently than other irons.

My daughter has a full, thick head of wavy (not curly), shoulder-length hair. The iron hair straightener does a great job of straightening it, in a natural-looking way, unlike the way the hair looks when straightened with the ceramic flat iron she has used in the past. My daughter was (is) pleased with that.

I can't quite understand where those that are criticizing this product are coming from, I absolutly love this professional hair straightener! I have naturally curly/wavy hair and this product is a lifesaver. It is a bit noisy but not offensively so.I have tried other straightening irons and they give me smooth results but my hair is so flat against my head. With the Instyler I can straighten my hair and add body at the same time. I waited until I used this product for 2 months to enter this review so that my review would be accurate. I did buy it at wal-mart so I could return it at the store if I didn't like it instead of waiting to send it back to the company, but I love it and would never part with it.
