Other Thoughts:It is a no name product with the provider's stickers added to brand it. They get in the way and should be removed before they jam it in the slot. I suspect it is really a Image card. It uses their drivers. You do have to buy a cable to connect it, $6. Works perfectly, what more do you want.
Other Thoughts:This expresscard ESATA adapter performs well enough for me. I'm running Vista 32bit, and upon insertion, Windows' plug-n-play found, and downloaded, a more current driver than was available on Syba's website. So, installation was a breeze.
Other Thoughts:I've used this card since May with a Dell XPS M1730 and two AcomData PureDrive 1 TB PHD10000USE-72s. It worked immediately and has never so much as blinked once in the months I've had it. While I've never seen anything very close to its (presumably) max speed, it still transfers much faster than any of my USB 2.0 drives--I'm too lazy to check precise rates.
