I have an 11 yr old dog with Cushings who drinks a lot of water. Sometimes there is a problem during the night. She is able to wiggle out of them at night but I find it's usually after she has wet in them so it still saves my bedroom carpet. They are easy to put on her and I find it works best if I put doggie pants over them to prevent her from getting out of them.

The medium size works pretty well for our dog, a 32 lb standard poodle who is on the tall and thin side for a dog of that weight. We put a cloth diaper over the disposable diaper just to help keep the disposable diaper on. She has emptied her bladder in a diaper only a few times. On all but one occasion the diaper held all of the urine and didn't leak. She doesn't mind wearing them and they give me peace of mind! By the way, she found the cloth diaper plus pad uncomfortable--that's why I tried the combination approach.

Sometime in the second half of 08, they improved the tabs. Before that, they'd break off all the time and I'd have to use masking tape in place of the tabs. After the improvement, I haven't had any tabs break, and my dogs have been through a lot of diapers! As for the fit, they stay on fine on one of the dogs (curly fur), but the other dog (smooth fur) I have to keep a doggy t-shirt on her and tape the diaper to the shirt, so it depends on the dog.
