If you happen to have a computer with display port and a HDMI display, this is a must-have. I have a display port to HDMI cable but had to unhook it from a tight spot on the monitor every time I had to hook another laptop that had HDMI out. With this, I can just hook an HDMI cable to the monitor use it with laptops that have DP out and HDMI out. <br/> <br/>Some computers immediately recognize an HDMI signal and some need to be configured. You need to make sure what needs to be done for your computer. <br/> <br/>This is a great product with sturdy construction and quality material. This transfers both video and audio signal. NO drivers needed. Truly recommend this product.

I bought this so I can use my third monitor for eyefinity. This thing DOES work when not using more than two monitors, but whenever I tried to enable third monitor, it want me to disable other monitor. This adapter is good when not used for third monitor or eyefinity.

This product works great. I could get it to work with a Dell latitude 6410 and get video and sound on the TV. <br/>The video worked right out of the box and for sound you have to change the audio device from the default (IDT audio in my case) to the digital audio device. This may be called differently based on your laptop and OS.

Adapter easily connected to my Lenovo ThinkPad T500's Display Port. I plugged a HDMI cable into the adapter and connected it to my HDTV's HDMI input. I'm now using this set-up to view Amazon's Video on Demand content on my HDTV.
