Other Thoughts:This DVR was easy to setup, easy to get going. Records well - I have a 2TB SATA drive in it and that holds several months of recording. The UI is easy to use as well. Only challenge was setting up motion detection, which has been challenging
Other Thoughts:I bought one of these units because it does everything and it does it well. The next closest product I've used cost thirty bucks less but did NOT record and was much slower and with poor video quality. This unit is worth every penny. In fact; I intend to buy a second one.
I needed some help getting the Internet link working and had to call a few times for assistance. I got someone on the phone EVERY TIME and he was courteous and helpful EVERY TIME.
It wasn't an "idiot proof" process to get it online, so I gave it a four out of five stars. Still, I am well pleased with this product and the people behind it.
Other Thoughts:Everything worked properly right out of the box. Setup was easy as long as you have all the cabling (power, antenna/cable, internet) installed. The only issue encountered was when the cable company converted to digital and a digital converter is required to get a signal. This minimizes the TiVo functionality. With the external cable box, only one program can be viewed or recorded at a time.
Other Thoughts:I'm writing this for the review request that keeps 'popping' up in my email, over and over again.
I do love the TiVO (yes with the subscription). It puts me on entertainment overload.....just too much stuff to choose from.......pretty cool.
