It's as bright, but bluer, than the "normal" bulb. It draws less current, so it shouldn't be as bad a drain on the battery. It is much more directional / focused than incandescents, even with 6 emitters. It still provides plenty of light.

My original license plate lights were replaced with LED festoon bulbs a long time ago and they finally started to give me problems flickering. Once I found these they worked perfectly. Just a fair warning, these are not sealed in any way. It is just the festoon ends with the board with the mounted LEDs on them. If you think they will be exposed the weather, just take a hot glue gun a shoot some glue into the ends and over any exposed connections and you'll be good to go.

The two-pack allowed me to use one as a dome light on my small car, and another for the cargo area in my minivan. In both applications, they provide a much brighter light. The color of the light can best be described as greyish (on the bluish side of you look at the bulb, and making colors look washed out it its light). Still, it is brighter and represents a big improvement over standard-issue incandescent for most "finding stuff" applications. <br/> <br/>Overall, I'm very happy and look forward to having bulbs that don't quickly drain my car battery the way the old bulbs did if accidentally left on.
