I must have purchased about six of the simple one dollar version of the pencil sharpeners but they all fail after some simple usage. This Manual Pencil Sharpener is a great addition to the home office for the kids pencils. Pencils are sharpened quickly and cleanly without breakage. No electricity required, just a few simple turns of the handle and you are done.

This Desktop Pencil Sharpener is great! Like old school 2nd grade sharpeners. My kids use it for pencils, crayons, etc. We use this Desktop Pencil Sharpener at work where about 100 guys point points on their pencils before going to work, and we get about a year out of a sharpener. Which may not sound like a lot but it is FAR more than we could ever get out of the other ones we tried. Rugged and functional, what else would you want in a sharpener?

I ordered this sharpener online and it took 3 days for shipping. It has 2 cutting blades and a crank. The 2 cutting blades are in the shavings catcher. I am a second grader and I saw how they work. This is a really good product. You should Buy this product.

It is not quite what we had in elementary school but it should last a lifetime as long you don't abuse it. The screws that came with it were a little weak so I upgraded them and attached the sharpener to a piece of 2x4 for balance.

I was talking with a friend of mine about the things we remembered in school and what we missed. mine happened to be the pencil sharpener on the wall by the back doors. I was telling her that I don't think they use them much anymore but I would love to find one. so Amazon answered my dream. It's not quite as the originals, but is all metal and I like the shiny casing for the catch the pencil shavings.
