if hung on the wall the sound of the chime is greatly reduced and muffled. In any case, I am very pleased with the styling and quality of this wireless door chime.

Simple installation - works perfectly! We are unable to hear the doorbell when in our lower-level (basement) office. This extender works perfectly - unbelievable price!

Initially, I purchased one of the wireless doorbell to be located at my basement. Discovering that the new button will not cover the old bell button area properly and will leave an unsightly mess, I figured (guessed initially) that the transmitter (button) will work by just having it wired with (in parallel) the original chime. I was right and it works. I am very pleased with the result. The difference is that the wireless chime will sound after the original chime had stopped. My background is electronics.

Great item, passes signal through 3 masonry walls/glass, about 50 feet in my application. I wish the remote chime came with an A/C adapter.

We desperately needed something like this because our entire basement (where we spend 75% of our time) can't hear the doorbell. I saw this and the price and figured I'd give it a try.
