We had a cheapo sharpener that just didn't work well so I decided to try a decent manual sharpener like I grew up with. I wasn't sure how well my 6-year old would like goin' old-school but he loves this sharpener. I mounted it on a wall in the basement and it works great.

I've tried all types of sharpeners, elect, those small plastic things,nothing like the thing we all remember having as kids, still the best way to sharpen any pencil!

There was always on really good pencil sharpener in grade school. It wouldn't eat the pencil and would give you a really good tip. This is that pencil sharpener.

We've not mounted this on the wall yet, but so far it sharpens very well. I only wish the silver cover was made of metal like the old ones we had in school in the 70s/80s. However the internal blade parts are metal, so I'm hopeful that it will last as long as we're careful with the casing.

I have to admit I didn't think this Desktop Pencil Sharpener would work as well as it does, but I was wrong. My concern that it may chew up my soft lead Berols', however it does an awesome job..very pleased with this.
