- Pros: Price, power, size, and functionality.
- Cons: Requires a source of spare parts. Never got mine off the ground and had to replace the Receiving Circuit Board. But it was fairly inexpensive to buy and not complicated to install.
- Other Thoughts: As with every product sometimes defects are present. But I think overall, the sky king 8501 is a good entry level outdoor heli. With RC helis, crashes and repairs are almost unavoidable. But this heli is very user friendly, parts are cheap and available, and not hard to install. Good buy!

- Other Thoughts: Toy has a bit of a learning curve -- could not imagine giving to a kid under 11 or 12, as its fragile body probably wouldn't last more than a couple flights (you run into a lot of walls and land pretty roughly your first couple tries). A blast once you get the hang of it, though. 15-20 minutes' charge gets you 5-6 minutes' flight, and three channels means you get up/down, left/right rotation, and forward/backward. Instruction manual is laughably

- Other Thoughts: If you're looking for a basic helicopter for someone 8-14, this is a perfect starter. It charges quickly (15 mins) and then will fly for about 5-7 minutes. You need to follow the directions to correct the trim so it will hover and fly straight. Once trim is set, it flies really well. This was actually a gift for our 5 year old. He can fly it with a little help from his 8 year old brother.
